Privacy Policy
How HOME TECH+ collects, uses, and protects your information.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Introduction
HOME TECH+ ("we," "us") is a licensed and insured home technology services company. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
To provide in-home technology support and installation services, we may collect:
- Contact details — name, email, phone number (optional), and preferred contact method.
- Service details — service address (optional at registration, required only when booking in-home service or checking internet availability), whether you own or rent, issue descriptions, requested dates, and access instructions.
- Photos & media — photos or videos you share of the issue, plus before/after images taken during service.
- Account information — login credentials and account role (customer or consultant).
- Payment information — handled securely by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Usage data — how you use our app, collected to improve our services.
- Voice data — when you choose voice mode with Lexi, your spoken questions are transcribed using Apple's speech recognition and processed by our AI service to generate responses.
- Business information — when you submit a Business Technology Review, we collect business name, contact name, business phone, business email, service address, industry, and technology needs.
Data minimization: Phone number and service address are optional when creating an account. They are requested only when relevant to a feature you initiate, such as booking in-home service, checking internet availability, or requesting a callback.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To schedule, confirm, and deliver in-home technology services.
- To match you with an available, certified HOME TECH+ consultant in your area.
- To communicate about appointments, estimates, and service updates.
- To process payments and maintain records of services performed.
- To provide AI-powered troubleshooting assistance and improve its accuracy.
- To qualify business technology needs and connect businesses with appropriate solutions.
- To meet legal, insurance, and operational requirements.
Device permissions: HOME TECH+ requests microphone and speech recognition access only when you tap the voice button to speak with Lexi. We request photo access only when you choose to upload an image for troubleshooting. If you deny any optional permission, you can still use HOME TECH+ through text chat and manual entry. We do not request location, contacts, calendar, camera, Bluetooth, local network, health, HomeKit, or tracking permissions.
AI & voice processing: Your text messages, transcribed voice, uploaded images, contact details, and service details are sent to our AI service providers — OpenAI (in-app text and AI processing), ElevenLabs (voice and audio processing, including voice synthesis), and Anthropic Claude (voice-agent response generation) — to generate Lexi's responses. Before any data is sent, Lexi asks for your explicit just-in-time consent and lists exactly what may be transmitted. You can revoke this consent at any time in Settings. Lexi is an AI assistant, not a human. Never enter passwords, PINs, payment data, government IDs, or sensitive credentials into Lexi — we will never ask for them.
Push notifications: With your permission, HOME TECH+ can send push notifications to your mobile device for service request updates, appointment reminders, callback and support updates, and important account notices. Push notifications use generic, lock-screen-safe text and never include your address, phone number, email, or troubleshooting details. You control which categories of notifications you receive in Settings, and you can disable push notifications entirely at any time. Push notifications are delivered through Apple Push Notification service (APNs) on iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on Android. Your device token is registered securely when you opt in and is revoked when you log out or delete your account. We do not send promotional or marketing push notifications by default. Transactional and security-critical notices (such as account security alerts) may be sent even if other categories are disabled.
4. Information Sharing & Third-Party Processors
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as necessary to deliver our services with the following categories of third-party processors:
- Base44 — Application platform, database hosting, and authentication infrastructure.
- Google / Gmail — Authentication (Sign in with Google) and internal business email communications.
- Apple — Authentication (Sign in with Apple). Apple's private email relay may be used to protect your email address.
- HubSpot — Customer relationship management (CRM) for business leads and sales pipeline management.
- OpenAI — In-app text and AI processing for the Lexi assistant.
- ElevenLabs — Voice and audio processing, including AI voice synthesis, for the Lexi voice agent.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI language processing for Lexi voice-agent response generation.
- Wix / Base44 Payments — Payment processing for service bookings.
- Twilio — SMS and phone communications when you request a callback.
- Assigned consultants — Customer information needed to perform the requested service, bound by confidentiality.
We do not share your personal information with data brokers. We do not use your information for cross-app advertising tracking or retargeting.
5. Tracking & Advertising
Inside the HOME TECH+ iOS app: We do not track you for advertising purposes. The packaged iOS application does not access the IDFA, does not initialize advertising SDKs, does not use App Tracking Transparency, and does not perform cross-app or cross-site advertising tracking. No advertising identifiers are collected or shared inside the app.
On our public website: We may use Google Ads conversion measurement on our public website (visited in a standard browser). This advertising measurement is gated and does not load inside the packaged iOS application. Website visitors are subject to the tracking and privacy practices described by the respective advertising providers.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information. As a licensed and insured provider, we maintain secure records of service visits, estimates, and signatures. We never ask for or store passwords, carrier PINs, or full financial account numbers through our app. OAuth tokens from third-party login providers (Google, Apple) are managed securely by our authentication platform and are never exposed in client-side code or logs. No method of transmission is fully secure, but we work to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
We keep service records and account information for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, warranty, insurance, and tax purposes. When you delete your account, your personal profile, appointments, notifications, service requests, and lead records are deleted. Certain business and transactional records may be retained in anonymized form where required for legitimate legal, tax, warranty, or contractual obligations.
8. Your Rights & Account Deletion
You may access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. You can update your profile information directly within the HOME TECH+ app under Settings.
Delete your account: You can permanently delete your HOME TECH+ account at any time from within the app at Settings → Delete Account, or from our public Delete Account page (no login required — you can submit a deletion request by email). This will remove your profile, appointments, service requests, notifications, and associated personal data. Certain business or transactional records may be retained in anonymized form where required for legal, tax, warranty, or contractual obligations.
Disconnect third-party login: If you signed in with Google or Apple, you can revoke HOME TECH+'s access from within your Google or Apple account settings at any time.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date.
